Who is DZ BANK AG?

DZ BANK AG is a German bank headquartered in Frankfurt am Main. It acts as the central institution for the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken cooperative banking network in Germany, supporting the local cooperative banks in retail banking, corporate banking, capital markets and transaction banking, and it also works directly with companies and institutional clients as a commercial bank.

For institutional clients it provides investment products in fixed income, equities and foreign exchange, along with trading platforms, hedging solutions, primary market financing through equity and debt capital markets, payments and electronic banking services, and research. It has international branches in London, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The bank traces its roots to the cooperative movement of the nineteenth century and the ideas of Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen, and the banking institution from which it developed was established in 1883. DZ BANK in its present form was created in 2001 through the merger of GZ-Bank and DG BANK, and it merged with WGZ BANK in 2016.
