Security lookup

Find a security by ISIN, CUSIP, SEDOL, FIGI, exchange ticker or name. Free, no sign-up.

Free tool, no sign-up

Filters (optional)
Try:

Type any identifier or a company name. The tool recognises an ISIN, CUSIP, SEDOL or FIGI from its shape and checks its check digit before anything is sent. It reads a ticker written in the exchange ticker format, such as AAPL US Equity (ticker, exchange code and market sector), and searches names and bare tickers.

Each result shows the instrument name, ticker, exchange code, market sector, security type and its three FIGIs, with a copy button beside each identifier.

How to use the security lookup

  1. 1

    Type or paste

An ISIN, CUSIP, SEDOL, FIGI, a ticker such as EMAAR DB Equity, or a company name.

  2. 2

    Check the type

Leave the type on automatic detection, or pick one. A mistyped identifier is flagged with the check that failed.

  3. 3

    Look it up

See every listing with its exchange, security type and FIGIs, and copy the identifier you need.

What the results show

Name and ticker
The instrument name and its ticker on that venue.
Exchange
The exchange code of the venue. For GCC and other markets with a reference page, it links to the venue's Market Identifier Code (MIC).
Sector and type
The market sector (Equity, Corp, Govt, Index and so on) and the type of instrument, such as Common Stock.
FIGI
The identifier of the instrument on that one venue.
Composite FIGI
Groups the venue listings of the instrument within one country.
Share class FIGI
Groups the instrument across countries.

The ZagTrader platform looks up new instruments and adds them for you

ZagTrader keeps a single instrument master for every market you trade. Records are matched on standard identifiers, so the same security is recognised whether your team searches by ISIN, SEDOL, CUSIP, FIGI or the local exchange code.

Switch on automatic lookup, and when anyone searches for an instrument the platform does not yet hold, it looks it up by its identifier and adds it to the right market, ready to use. Operators can request a specific instrument by identifier from the instrument screen.

Frequently asked questions

What can I look up here?

An ISIN, a CUSIP, a SEDOL, a FIGI, a ticker in the exchange ticker format such as VOD LN Equity, or a company name. Pick the type, or leave it on automatic detection.

Why is my identifier not looked up?

Its check digit does not match, so a character is probably mistyped, or it is not an identifier of that type. The tool says which check failed. Correct it, or choose Name search to search the text instead.

Why do I get several rows for one identifier?

An ISIN, CUSIP or SEDOL names a security, and the same security can trade on many venues. Each venue listing is its own row, with its own ticker, exchange code and FIGI. Compare the exchange codes to find the listing you trade.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up. The number of lookups per minute is limited so the tool stays fast for everyone; if you go over, the page asks you to wait a minute.

What happens to what I type?

Our code does not store your query. Like any website, our hosting provider keeps standard request logs for a short time. The lookup sends only what you type and the filters you set, through our server, to a security reference service. Answers are kept for a day, with nothing that links them to you, so the same lookup is quick the next time anyone asks.

Does the ZagTrader platform do this for its users?

Yes. With automatic lookup switched on, an instrument your team searches for by identifier is looked up and added to the right market the first time it is needed.

Market data and the instrument master

Results come from a security reference service at the time of the lookup and are not checked by ZagTrader. FIGI identifiers are in the public domain. Check important data against the issuer or your data provider before you rely on it. CUSIP is a registered trademark of the American Bankers Association; ZagTrader is not affiliated with it.
