Market data feeds: from the exchange to every screen, live
Native feed handlers for the exchanges you trade, full depth, market status that follows the venue, and a hot standby that takes over on its own.
In short
ZagTrader connects natively to exchange and vendor feeds and turns them into live prices, depth, trades and charts on every screen and API. Market status and halts follow the exchange, the instrument list keeps itself current, entitlements control who sees what, and a hot standby keeps data flowing if a server fails.

What your market data team gets
One feed layer for every venue, built so prices never wait.
Native exchange feeds
Direct handlers for the protocols exchanges publish, plus FIX market data, Bloomberg end-of-day prices and venue APIs, including digital-asset exchanges.
See the detailsFull depth, trades and charts
Best bid and offer, depth by order and by price, indicative auction prices, time and sales and intraday charts, all from the same stream.
See the detailsMarket status that follows the venue
Pre-open, open, close and trading halts are applied the moment the exchange publishes them, with an announcement to users.
See the detailsAn instrument list that maintains itself
New listings are created from the feed. Lot size, tick size, price limits and ISIN stay in step, and renamed symbols are matched automatically.
See the detailsMarket data as a revenue line
Control access per user, market and instrument, and sell live prices and full order book as subscription packages billed to the client account.
See the detailsHot standby, not cold failover
A standby engine stays current on the same data and takes over within seconds if the primary stops. No replay, no reload.

The full capability set, in plain language.
| Capability | What you get |
|---|---|
| Exchange feeds | Native handlers for the main exchange protocols, including ITCH, MITCH, Euronext OPTIQ, FAST and X-Stream, with each venue running in its own isolated process. |
| FIX and vendor data | FIX market data from venues and liquidity providers, Bloomberg end-of-day prices on a schedule, NASDAQ Data Link, and REST and WebSocket APIs from digital-asset venues. |
| Prices and depth | Best bid and offer, last trade, day statistics and price limits, with full depth by order and by price and indicative opening and closing auction prices. |
| Trades and ticks | Every trade with time, price, quantity and aggressor side, kept as tick history for time and sales. |
| Charts | Intraday chart bars built from the live feed, so charts on every front end match the prices traders see. |
| Market status and halts | Market sessions and instrument suspensions follow the exchange automatically, so order entry respects the real state of the market. |
| Instrument master | New instruments created from the feed, or listed by hand if you prefer. Static fields stay in step with the venue, and venue news becomes platform announcements. |
| Your own venues | Prices formed on ZagTrader matching engines and synthetic instruments reach the same stream, so a screen shows one feed wherever a price was made. |
| Streaming | Live streaming over TCP and secure WebSocket to trading workstations, web portals, mobile apps and client APIs, with updates bundled per instrument for smooth delivery. |
| Entitlements | Access checked at the stream itself, per user, per market and per instrument, using an allow-list or a block-list model. |
| Subscriptions and billing | Package live prices and full order book into tiers, manage requests and approvals, and bill subscription fees through the client ledger. |
| Resilience | Hot standby with automatic take-over, gap recovery from exchange replay services, same-day restart without reprocessing, and self-restarting components. |
| Scale | One process per venue feed, parallel processing that keeps each instrument's updates in exchange order, and extra streaming engines that fan out to more users. |
| Monitoring | A heartbeat for every feed, connection and engine, and a browser console showing markets, instruments, connected users and standby status. |

Instrument master and reference data
One global instrument master, built from reference data and exchange feeds.
ZagTrader keeps a global instrument master for every market you trade. Instrument records come from global reference data and from exchange feeds. They are matched on standard identifiers, so the same security is recognised whether your team searches by ISIN, SEDOL, CUSIP, FIGI or the local exchange code.
New listings, ISIN changes, symbol changes and delistings flow into the master as the source data changes. Each record carries the details that trading and the back office need: the listing venue (MIC), country-level listing, currency, lot size, legal entity identifier (LEI), CFI classification, and, for bonds, issue date, maturity, coupon and redemption terms.
You can also let the platform add instruments for you. Switch on automatic lookup, and when anyone searches for an instrument the platform does not yet hold, it looks it up by its ISIN, FIGI, SEDOL or CUSIP and adds it to the right market, ready to use. Operators can request a specific instrument by identifier from the instrument screen.
For clients with a Bloomberg data licence, end-of-day prices from Bloomberg can be loaded every day for equities, bonds and futures, and stored as price history.
Worldwide corporate actions data is available as an optional subscription. Clients that subscribe receive event types, dates and terms, delivered into the ZagTrader corporate actions module, where each event is reviewed and approved before it touches client positions.
Do we have to set up every instrument ourselves?
No. Instruments come from reference data and exchange feeds. With automatic lookup switched on, an instrument your team searches for by identifier is added the first time it is needed.
Which identifiers does the platform recognise?
ISIN, SEDOL, CUSIP, FIGI (including the country-level composite FIGI), the local exchange code and the market identifier (MIC). LEI and CFI are held on the instrument record.
What happens when an ISIN or a ticker changes?
The instrument master follows the change from the source data. The instrument keeps its history, positions and orders.
Can corporate actions arrive automatically?
Yes, as an optional data subscription. Worldwide corporate actions data covers dividends, bonus issues, splits and consolidations, rights, mergers and takeovers, spin-offs, buybacks, and name and identifier changes. It is delivered into the corporate actions module. By default each event waits for review and approval before it changes client positions, and each market can choose its own approach.

Frequently asked questions
Can ZagTrader connect to our exchange's feed?
Very likely. We handle the main native exchange protocols, FIX market data, vendor feeds and venue APIs. Tell us your venue and we will confirm the route.
Do live prices reach our mobile app and APIs too?
Yes. The same stream feeds trading workstations, web portals, mobile apps and client APIs, so every channel shows the same price at the same time.
What happens if a market data server fails?
A hot standby holds the same live data and takes over automatically when the primary stops. Feed handlers recover any missed messages from the exchange's replay service.
Can we control who sees full market depth?
Yes. Entitlements are enforced at the stream, per user, per market and per instrument, so each user receives only the data they are allowed to see.
Can an exchange or broker sell market data through ZagTrader?
Yes. Package live prices and full order book as subscription tiers. Clients request them, you approve, and fees are billed through the client account.
Do we have to maintain the instrument list by hand?
No. New listings can be created from the feed, static details stay in step with the exchange, and renamed symbols are matched automatically. You can still list by hand if you prefer.
